Did you sleep through the 8am lecture of Accounting 101 because you never thought in a million years you would actually need that in the real world?  Or maybe you never took typing because you assumed someone else would do that for you when you made it to the big office?  Whether you are now scrambling to catch up with those business skills you wish you had learned years ago or are a natural lifelong learner, schedule some time for yourself and your team to take advantage of these free resources.

Here are a few links to some great courses for inspiration:

Small Business Administration - Free Online Course List

  • Self-paced and Short (~30 mins)
  • Covers a wide range of business topics (Financial, Marketing, Business Planning, etc.)
  • Includes courses for current events (ex. Federal Stimulus Program, Winning Federal Contracts)

MIT Sloan School of Management

  • Free Open Courseware (including lecture notes)
  • Undergrad and Masters level courses covering a wide spectrum of subjects
  • No college credits, but you can say, “I learned that from a class I took at MIT.”

Peachtree Anytime Learning

  • As luck would have it, AndreaM posted yesterday about free product training for Peachtree
  • Unlimited access for 12 months; including a 65 minute sample course bundle

Oh, and if you really DO want to learn to type with more than 2 fingers, there are free sites for that, too.

Do you have any recommendations for free online courses to share with the group?
