Re: Duplicate line prints on payroll check

You can copy the good customized check versions from the known computer to the other.

Open the good customized check into the Design Screen and click on SAVE.  At the bottom of the screen you will see the location and the file name where this particular customized check form resides.  The actual file name will start with APC000??.FRM in the case of an Accounts Payable Check form.  The last two or possibly three numbers will be personal to this check.  The location will be in the FORMS folder located in the shared Peachtree datapath as defined in the Peachtree startup INI file located in your C:\Windows folder.

Using the Windows Explorer migrate to the shared Peachtree datapath and the folder FORMS, locate the customized check by its file name, then copy it to an alternate media i.e. a USB Flash Drive / Thumb Drive.  Take it to the second computer and before copying it to the Peachtree shared FORMS folder, you should open Peachtree and then click on the corrupted Check form and enter into the DESIGN Center, clicking on SAVE so as to note the file name. It may be different than the known good check form.  If so, close out of this screen and then right click on the bad check form and delete it, before copying the good form to the same FORMS folder.

Like always, you should make a data backup before making any changes, such as described here before starting any of the above steps.

Re: Duplicate line prints on payroll check

The default print fine and some of my custom's print fine.  I just find it odd that some of them are different now.

I am on a laptop so the secretary's computer is not connected to mine.

Re: Duplicate line prints on payroll check

Forms, in this case a customized Check are shared by all workstation on the network.  Therefore, it is logical that if you experience the problem when printing the custom check, that every other workstation would experience the same problems.

Diane asked in her post, if you have tried printing one of the default or standard Peachtree checks and if it printed properly.  If so, and the check printed properly then this would indicate that your custom check form is the source of the problem and that you would be well advised to delete it and attempt the customizing of the check form again.  This is typically easier than it is to troubleshoot the source of the check printing problem.

Re: Duplicate line prints on payroll check

It is a customized check.  The secretary's is doing the same thing and we are on different computers, so it's not just me.  It happened to 2 of my check formats and I had been using them for over a year.

Re: Duplicate line prints on payroll check

Are you using a customized check? If so, try it using a standard check form and see if the same thing happens. If it is a customized check, it could be a problem with the order number in the check design.

Duplicate line prints on payroll check

Well, now I've done it somehow.  I think it was while I was trying to get the October update to install, but when I print a payroll check, it prints the second line twice (so if Fed WH is the second line, it will print the same thing twice - if no Fed W/H, then it prints the Soc_sec line twice)

It just started doing this today.  I've tried editing the payroll form but if I delete the second line, then it doesn't print that info at all.
