Opportunities out of challenges

by Sage Employee ConnieC on 11-26-2008 04:19 PM

Hi, everyone.  First of all, thanks for all of the comments on my recent Support blog.  I hope this one proves to be as interactive.  The topic I would like your input on is related to the current US economic landscape, its impact on your business, and how we (Sage) can help.  We recently did a survey to our Peachtree customer base to find out how the weakening economy is impacting their businesses.  Some key findings from this survey are:

  • 53% of Peachtree customers indicate the state of the US economy has negatively impacted their business

  • 72% of those who have been negatively impacted indicate they do not expect conditions to improve in the next 6 months.

  • 43% of Peachtree customers indicate their sales have declined YOY on average 20%

  • 81% of Peachtree customers indicate their cost structure has increased YOY an average of 15%

  • 52% of Peachtree customers indicate the poor economy has impacted their ability to remain profitable

Although not surprising, these statistics were fairly alarming to us.  In fact, it quickly got us thinking about how we could help.  The changes we’ve made as a result of this data include the introduction of installment payment options for many of our offerings (including upgrades and Quantum).  We also launched some webinars for many of our customers on the Business Care service related to how the capabilities of Peachtree can help you weather the storm (keeping tighter control over your business).

My questions to you are 1) how has the economic climate impacted your small business and 2) can you think of innovative ways we (Sage) can help. Keep in mind that giving all of our products/services away for free to everyone isn’t possible – since we also have to remain in business; however, we sincerely want to offer services or innovative business models to help you get through these tough times.

Maybe you’ve been able to see past all the dire headlines to find some unique opportunities. What competitive advantages in your industry or geographic location could help you not just survive, but thrive over the next year, and how might we work together to help you attain them?

Thanks in advance for your responses and innovative ideas to this blog.

I used Peachtree, issuing Invoices and stocking Items, I tried to use personal as well but not the full module futures, as the regulations are different than USA Systems. That was in Canadian Company...where I used to live.

Thank you for your good product and looking forward to receive an e-mail from you to go on a further discussion regarding some benefits for both of us.

I've recently joined a newly formed small organization dealing in construction projects, in Riyadh - Saudi Arabia. After reviewing many accounting software packages online, I found Peachtree Premium Accounting 2009 for construction projects (2 - 5 users) suitable for our organization & I recommend the same.

Unfortunately, the company policy doesnot allow to buy the software online & the contact address of authorized vendor in Riyadh, is not correct on your website.

Please provide me solution to buy your software package locally & immediately.

Regards,

Nusrath

Training options are really big.  I have now spent about a half an hour trying to find out where the training resources are on your website.  Is there a reason that it is hard to get to training topics such as payroll, online backup, etc?  How about some training on customizing the program?  I am relatively new to Peachtree, and I have people in my office who should be trained, but I don't have time to do it myself.  Having them train using the Web seems to be a huge timesaver for me, but I should not have to try so hard to find the training.  Your customer service is going to "send me a link"--that's great, but it should be super easy to find for both me and my employees.

thanks.

I have heard about Peach tree from my husband who needs my help with his many projects to keep the work flow, invoice, accountings etc. But I have not had  experience to work on this kind of keeping accounting or keep the data for anyone before.

Although I know how to use computer for my own work.

Do you think it is possible for an inexperience to use Peach tree?

Do you have any manual for a beginner to start and work with?

If I have manual and someone can  teach me step by step how to do it I think it would help me make it possible. I like something that is systematic and once I understand I can do it.'

Or Peach tree needs a very experienced person who have background in accounting before to use if not it is impossible.

Thank you hope you can help answer my question.
