Milyn, you can easily set the default orientation in reports by following these steps:

In you printers folder use the Add a printer under pick under Printer Tasks to setup on your printer without removing it.

When the setup finishes you will have two icons for you printer in your printers folder. Rename the second printer by selecting it and pressing F2 to have portrait in the name and make it your default printer (this is so all non Peachtree reports will print in portrait by default).

Right click on the original listing for your printer (this is the one the Peachtree reports are set to use in their printer settings) and select Printing Preferences. Change the orientation to landscape and save the settings.

Note if you rename the original printer listing to have landscape in the name the Peachtree reports will no longer print to it unless you change the printer for each one which defeats the purpose of the above instructions and why you don't make the newly added printer have a default orientation of landscape..

Milyn - There isn't a way to set the default orientation for all reports, unfortunately. Some printers allow you to set the default within your general printer settings, but of course that would apply to all programs. This is a good suggestion for a future improvement to Peachtree reports. Thanks!

Could you get it right for once?? Question asked " does peachtree have a quick way to evaluate each customer value to my company?"

Your answer is wrong: In peachtree complete accounting 2010, it is under "business status" if you customized the page. In quantum you have a "new dash board" so you might have got it 33% right. In peachtree premium accounting, I don't know....I don't have a version of it.

But who ever wrote the program to pick my "top 10 customers by gross profit", Gets a "F", maybe, should be fired, but at least should rewrite the program and please, try to get it right this time.

5 months on Peachtree complete accounting 2010....it never was right. hoped after spending $2200 to up grade to peachtree quantum after spending $3-400, 5 months ago on peachtree complete accounting 2010, that peachtree quantum would get it right, but NO.

My top 10 customers that I have made the most profit from, for the past 12 months, according to peachtree are as follows:

1 out of 10 is paid in full

3 out of 10 are 30-60 days past due

6 out of 10 are 6 months to 5 years past due.

How can I make a profit off of 9 of 10 of these customers, if they have never paid me???

If I click on " view customers sales history report". I have 66 customers, on this report, that I have made a gross profit in the past 12 months that is greater than the 10 customer you show.(provided that your customers pay me) If your top 9 of 10 , never pay me, then I have about 600 customer that I made a greater gross profit off of.

Oh hell.....don't want to over work any body down there at Peachtree, it's so close to the end of the year and the holidays.....Just send out a patch or update and change the name" top customers last twelve months" to " TOP DEAD BEAT CUSTOMERS LAST TWELVE MONTHS"

Bruce

A question was asked as to how to change a report from portrait to landscape. Your response works for just that one report. The majority of my reports are needed in landscape, is there a way to make landscape the default? It would save a tremendous amount of my time.

There has also been a good bit of knowledge exhanged on the product community board.
Nhop, One reason the Write Checks task screen does not have custom templates like other task screens is that this screen is simpler and does not include as many optional fields that could be removed. While you're not able to customize the screen, you certainly can customize the forms used to print checks.

PJK, Here's a workaround to that issue: if you create a task screen template of the same exact name in each of your companies, the selection of that template will be maintained as you switch between companies. And rather than recreate the templates, you can simply copy the TEMPLATE.DAT file from one company folder into the folders of other companies in order to copy those task screen templates.

Interesting, but REALLY doesn't adequately address reality when a particular Corporate item is secured from multiple vendors with their OWN unique Item numbers that must be used when purchasing.

If the inventory logic linkage associated a Corporate Item ID with vendor(s) and multiple "purchased" items could be associated with the vendor(s) - then Peachtree would go a LONG WAY towards addressing the needs of today's business(es).

To do this, select Options > Global and select the General tab. Click the Reset button at the bottom of the window. The "Keep the company open?" message will now appear the next time you select Open Company.
